The Thaw

Under the sun,

The snow drips

In a rhythmic beat

And swirls down the street

In a flowing stream

Moving, melding, meshing

Until many rivers meet

And swell in gushing unison

Eventually reaching the big deep

Many waters, becoming oneโ€ฆ

When winter dissolves into spring.

Under His wings,

The tears fall

Dripping one by one,

Swirling in a stream,

Caught in the palms

of a God

Who counts each one.

The cold heart–

Stone, stiff, aloofโ€”

Melts, softens, thaws.

Embraced by Love,

Warmed,

Pulled out of death…

An eternal touch–

And heart-water pours out

As the cold heart awakens.

“Lord, all my desire is before You, andย  my sighing is not hidden from You.”

Psalm 38:9

“Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence if fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Psalm 16: 9-11

Letting go, leaving it in the Throne Room, at His feet. Sweet rest. Sweet peace. Home.
