Continuing on in sharing a multitude of thanks on Mondays…

We walked through the soggy woods, thrilled with the sight of dirt, wintered grass, and wet wood chips.

Muddy. Wet. Happy.

The season is turning… and the evidence indicates it is so, with snow melting, birds building nests and the first blooms readying for their debut from the sleepy ground.

Change. Growth. Life. Coming. Out.

I want to emerge with all of it, as if peeling off a layer of old self  like a tattered worn-out garment that no longer fits, and brandishing something new.

Newer depths. Newer heights.

Lives transformed by hope, grace, the mercy of the cross are…

a renewal

a restoration

a renovation

A debut of new creations.

Very soon, lovely fragrances will fill the air, the perfume of spring.

And a community of praises arise like a sweet aroma reaching Heaven, to the face of the Most High God.

#26-#52– I’m thankful:

#26… that the weather is turning milder

#27… to see more sunshine and blue skies

#28…  to finally see the grass under the melting snow

#29… for my kids’ laughter

#30…  for clean water

#31…  that spring break starts this week

#32… for rainy Sunday afternoons spent napping

#33… for a lively game of chess with one of the young ‘uns

#34… for crumbs on the table and floor

#35… that one of the young ‘uns  might actually be taller than me

#36… for a spring hike through soggy woods

#37…for dirty, muddy tennis shoes after said hike

#38… for papers scattered around

#39… for delicious books to read

#40… for books piled on shelves and tables

#41… for warm socks

#42… for tea with friends

#43… for music that speaks to my soul

#44… for the remarkable story of Esther

#45…  that this world is kept in motion by Him

#46… that time itself began with Him

#47… that there is nothing God doesn’t know

#48… that even giants can fall with one blow

#49… for all of the unseen tragedies that “miss” me; for all of those things that “didn’t” happen

#50… that if He says it, I can count on it

#51… that He is preparing a place for me

#52… that LOVE. NEVER. FAILS.
