(This is from Lisa-Jo, Gypsy Mama’s website– the Five Minute Friday Writing Prompt. I love it, because today five minutes is about all I’ve got!):

“So, here’s the skinny: I’ve been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.

Ala-ka-zam – Five Minute Friday was born.

We’ve all got five minutes – while the kids are wrestling, while the macaroni’s boiling, while the dog is doing his business, while the plumber is resuscitating your washing machine.”

Wanna just write? Without wondering if it’s just right or not. You’re welcome to play along. The rules are easy.

  1. Write your heart out for five minutes and show us what you’ve got.
  2. Tell your readers you’re linking up here and invite them to play along.
  3. And most importantly, go visit, read, and encourage the fellow five-minuter who linked up right before you.{I humbly beg you to turn off word verification for the day to make this easier!}

Today’s prompt: Deep Breath

GO

I read somewhere this past week that breathing in and out is like the sound of YHWH… and I loved the sound of that, to think that each breath I take is beause of him…and the sound of breathing is like His Holy name.

I take a deep breath, and let the fragrance of spring fill my lungs and my head and I get giddy from the beauty and loveliness and smell of it… cut, fresh grass, hyacinths, and the lilacs that are just beginning to bud….

I take a deep breath as I look around… the mess of my house. Another deep breath. More like a *sigh*.  🙂

I take a deep breath as I ponder the days ahead, of kids, journeys, life… what is in store, what is ahead, full of knowns and unknowns… and I remember that the breath of life that sustains me, YHWH, is in charge of it all, and knows the road before I even have to cross the path.

I take a deep breath and ponder what treasures and trials await me in the days, weeks and months ahead. I know not. But the one constant I know– His breath, that breathed life into me, is what will keep me going… the source of my life.

I take a deep breath… and thank Him.
