Friends, I wanted to bring to your attention three poetry contests:

  1. Dignity not Detention – A prize of $500 and publication in Poetry International will be given for a single poem written for refugees currently being detained pending their hearings. (A similar prize will be offered to refugee poets in U.S. detention centers.)
  2. Paraclete Press announces the inaugural Paraclete Poetry Prize. First prize is a $1,000 honorarium and book publication in Fall 2020. Poets are welcome to submit a book-length (60-75 poems, none more than one book page in length) manuscript before January 30, 2020.
  3. Two Sylvias Press Wilder Series Poetry Book Prize. This contest is open to women over 50 years of age, and prizes include $1000, publication, 20 copies of the winning book, and more.
