I’m trying something new today and linking up with Gypsy Mama for her Five Minute Friday writing prompt. Here’s how it works: she gives a writing prompt, and then you write for 5 minutes straight, no editing. Sounds fun, so I’m going to try it out. Today the prompt isย “If You Met Me”– so here goes:
******************
If you met me, you may hear a southern accent, or part of a midwestern accent, or maybe neither of those. I’m kind of curious so I might ask you a lot of questions. I can talk, but then I can be less talkative, too, so I hope I’d be a really good listener. I might even be a little shy.
I’d be trying to make a good impression because I’d probably like you and want to be friends. I’m sure we’d find a lot in common. I’d probably mention my family at some point since I do like them a lot. ๐ I’d want to know all about you.ย I like to laugh, and love laughing with friends, so I’d be secretly hoping we’ll be laughing AND talking naturally, about anything. I’d hope to get real.
If you met me, it’d involve tea or coffee, since that’s what I like to have around, and if you’re at my house, I’d make us some homemade chai on the stove top, since that’s what I drink every single day!
Someone in an earlier post mentioned the new Jane Eyre movie and since I just saw it, if you met me I might have to bring it up since I really liked this one.ย I might mention to you that I like to read and write and want to take better pictures and wonder what you like to do.

That was a fun five minutes! If you want to try it, head on over to Gypsy Mama and link up!
I love that you are doing Five Minute Fridays! And I loved getting to know you a little better. I hope that you’ll join up next Friday too . . . Seriously, I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and today was no exception. Thanks for sharing you. Smiles –
Hello, Amy! Your comment encourages me– thank you! That is very kind of you. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog, too!! I look forward to reading your thoughts. So great to make a new friend!
Hey, I’ll have to try this next week! It was fun pretending to just have met you.

Tea & coffee sound good to me, too, and you’ll have to share your chai recipe sometime.
Hi Jennifer, nice to see you! Yes– do try the 5 minute Friday– it really is fun!
I’d be happy to share the chai recipe. Maybe I’ll try to make up some kind of fun post about it. Good idea! ๐
