Can you remember a time when you expectantly waited for something for days, weeks, months, even years? And when you finally received that thing which you hoped for, do you remember the joy that followed?
Last week, I wrote about hope . After hope, comes the “rejoicing”.
“A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices….”
When we receive the gift, we rejoice, do we not? The joy is all the greater because of the wait, the anticipation, the hope of its arrival.
So it is with Christmas. It is the joy of the arrival of the special gift of a Savior, the hope of the world.
What are you hoping for this Christmas, or this year?
Are you finding your complete joy in the gift of Jesus?
The other things of the season are superfluous. They can be highly distracting.
After all, the reason we sing, the reason we decorate, the reason we give gifts, is all because of Jesus.
The reason we rejoice? Jesus was born. He came, and he will come again.
This is Joy.
