For the prompt “gigantic”…

…Atlas and his gargantuan task of holding up the whole world.

Thank goodness it’s not up to us to hold up the world. Mercy! Can you imagine? Yet, we sometimes do try to carry way too much on our own shoulders, don’t we? At least, I’ve been known to try.

I did consider how I could draw “the earth is my footstool”, but I gave up on trying that one. How would I draw God’s foot?! Should it look like a regular foot, only bigger? How would I show it resting on the earth, without it looking like he could crush it, or kick it? Do you see my dilemmas? Haha! I can’t even think that one through. Making a literal drawing out of that verse, even if it is both literally true and also metaphorically true–it blows my mind.

Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be? — Isaiah 66:1

Hey- I didn’t start off this one in pencil but in pen. You can see those rough pen lines– they’re pretty visible. I would have erased them if I had started off in pencil.
