I’ve been using Goodreads to keep track of books I want to read, and what I’ve read through the year. This particular year was more than usual because I’m researching for the book I’m writing on ethnic loneliness and belonging. My goal was 40; and somehow I got through 72 (it was a few more than that since I didn’t add a few). I did much more reading than usual, and I read some excellent books.

I don’t know if I can continue this pace but I will say it was enjoyable to read so many good words. Reading this much means I do give up other things and sometimes have to sacrifice other activities for the time to read. But it’s time well spent. My reading goal for 2023 is 45 books.

What about you? Do you set reading goals? How do you keep track? I’d love to know! Share and comment below!

I’ll be sharing the list of books in my newsletter, coming out this week, and highlighting a few of my favorites. Join me there! (Sign up via the link on the home page or click here.)

In other news, regarding the book I’m writing: I’ve got 9 days before the deadline and I turn it in. I could use all the good thoughts and prayers you can send my way. I can’t wait to share it all with you. Thank you for being a reader and friend!
